The Drummond - Detailed Design

The Drummond display home is a split entry with a lot of style and loads of space.  It was planned with a young family in mind, as this would be a great starter home.  With the three bedrooms on the main level and a full basement, there is ample room for all the needs of a growing family.  This layout is a popular one but can be switched up to meet the needs of each family.

The dark grey siding with the red door is a classic pairing but with the crisp white trim, it feels fresh and suits the interior.

Because we based this home on a young family, we wanted to keep it clean and modern.  For the kitchen, this meant the Windsor style cabinets, with sleek handles and no crown along the top of the cabinets.  The light valance matches the cabinets, too, so everything is tone-on-tone.  The tile backsplash pulls the color out of the countertop.  The clean-lined pendants over the island match the fixture over the table, as well as the fixture over the entry.

The two bedrooms were staged as kid’s bedrooms but can be used as a den, an office or a craft room.  In this case, we’ve done a Wilderness theme for the boy and Paris Chic for the girl. There is a main bathroom across the hall, for company and the kids, but the master has its own bathroom with a nice window to let some natural light in. The master bedroom and bathroom are painted in greenish-grey shades, making it a relaxing, restful retreat.

All the furnishings were kept simple and clean in profile.  The living room chairs pull together the black, brown and greys throughout the main area while the charcoal sofa anchors the room.  The turquoise used throughout the space pairs well with the other tones and provided a pop of color.

Even though there are a lot of different wall colors, they all flow together and create an easy palette to live in.  The Revere Pewter wall color in the main area is a warm, grey tone that is a huge hit.  Not too dark, not too light, and it works well with just about any color.

We hope you enjoyed the insider’s glimpse of the Drummond show home.

Until next time,
