The Coxheath Development - House 1/4

We had a client approach us looking to build four executive style homes in Coxheath, NS. He came to our office with a few plans picked out, the issue being that these plans were roughly 1200sqft too small for his needs.

The layout for the first home built:
We took the style of the plans he liked and increased the size of the rooms to suit his wants and needs. Because this was such a large-scale project, we were able to work with a graphic design team to create 3D renderings of each of the homes for the client's approval.

3D rendering of the first home built:
Inside the first home, we ran hardwood flooring throughout, with the exception of the entry-ways and bathrooms, where we used ceramic tile.

In keeping with the Craftsman-style theme of the home, we did upgraded trim and door packages throughout the home. We used Craftsman-style doors as well as a flat baseboard and door casing.

In the kitchen, the client wanted to keep the look and feel of the space bright and airy, so we chose an off-white cabinet with a pure white subway tile backsplash. We took the tile backsplash up to the ceiling behind the kitchen window as well as behind the chef-style rangehood. This design feature helps to draw the eye upward and finishes the space nicely.

DSC06481We chose to run the cabinets right to the ceiling, finishing them with a 4.5 inch crown moulding. The custom quartz countertops are a beautiful and low-maintenance choice as the durable, non-porous surface resists staining.

The client wanted to go with a Robin's egg blue kitchen island. We found the colour in a Benjamin Moore swatch and customized the island cabinetry to match that shade - this is a great option to give your space a pop of colour and make it your own.

In the master bedroom ensuite, we chose a blue hexagon Utile walk-in shower. Utile is a budget-friendly alternative to custom tile showers and adds a modern design element to the classic walk-in shower.

Another benefit to choosing Utile over a custom tile shower is how easy it is to keep clean. With the flat surface of Utile, you no longer have to worry about cleaning grout lines.

On the exterior of the home, we kept with the Craftsman-style theme. The garage doors are painted a deep brown shade and we've added a shake style siding to accent the eaves and the front bump-out, in addition to a dormer ornament in the eaves.

To finish the exterior, we went with a Craftsman-style duraboard column as well as custom grills in each of the windows.

These homes are a great example of the many customizations and upgrades available to homeowners through Stone's Prestige Homes. By resizing or rearranging rooms, we are able to increase or decrease the square footage of almost any plan to make it suit your needs & lifestyle.

We hope you've enjoyed this home tour! We look forward to showing you the second, third and fourth Coxheath home as our development is completed.
